World Cup Wrap Up - July 12

Netherlands 3 - 0 Brazil

Finally, the game everybody's been waiting for, the first and only game at the World Cup which means absolutely fuck all. Let's get into the action!

I will say, as bad as the Brazilians have been on the field, their national anthems have been on point. I mean look at this little girl. The passion is off the charts. She's as excited as anybody else in the country for the team's opportunity to redeem themselves for their poor showing in the semi-final and return some dignity to the Selecao.

Unfortunately all that promise was laid to rest approximately 5 seconds into the game when Thiago Silva brought down Robben when he was through on goal. Robben went down like he had been shot in the dick, but maybe the Brazilian captain shouldn't be trying to get redcards in the first minutes of the game after he's just been suspended and fucked his country over in the World Cup semi-finals? Just a thought.

Van Persie made no mistake on the ensuing penalty and smacked it into the top right corner. The "number 1" celebration was about as cocky as it gets considering the goal came in a consolation game for third place.

Scolari, seeing the moment called for the kind of tactical nuance only offered by experienced international coaches, started motioning for Brazilian to start cupping balls and shoving shit up their butts or something. Honestly it isn't too surprising seeing how poorly Brazil played this tournament if this was the kind of coaching Scolari was offering.

Brazil conceded again and just like that the Brazilian population collectively burst into tears. This kid honestly looks like he'd rather die than suffer any more of this bullshit from his national team.

"LOL these guys are so bad!"

Netherlands scored one more late in the game and ran out 3-0 winners, meaning they conceded 10 in their last 2 games and became the team to concede the most goals at one World Cup in the history of the competition. What was that about them being the favorites?
