Apparently Muntari assaulted somebody from the Ghana FA, and Boateng has had attitude issues for his entire career so it's not really a surprise that he was involved. You have to assume this has something to do with the Ghanaians refusing to pay the World Cup bonuses that the players were promised, which honestly the media is giving the players way too hard a time for. Ostensibly it looks selfish, but if they don't get the money then its staying in the hands of the corrupt members of the Ghanaian federation who certainly aren't using it for anything other than personal gain.
Still, you have to wonder what kind of effect this will have on the team. They are two of Ghana's best players, but sometimes cutting out the rot and bad influences can give a huge boost to the team. Either way, unsettling the team can't be bad for the USMNT, so fans of the US should be pretty happy with the news.
Muntari hasn't commented yet, but I assume if he does it'll just go something like this:
