Express - His late call-up comes after a blundering apprentice at a china company in Dorset was handed the seemingly easy job of sourcing royalty-free pictures of Roy’s Boys for thousands of memento mugs.
But he mistook 24-year-old Manchester United defender Chris Smalling for the 52-year-old US President.
The red-faced worker, who has not been sacked, claims he used search engine Google to source the pictures.
And people thought it was bad when referee Andre Marriner confused Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gibbs? As hilarious as that was, that was in the heat of the moment, it was a bang-bang play, and they were both dressed identically. You have to think somebody here could have made the distinction between mediocre english centerback and leader of the free world? No? How about any of the other dozens of people who MUST have seen this before it made it to store shelves/the internet? Fucking brutal. Whenever a video of some old racist from the south pops up and you think how backward some parts of the US still are, just remember, at least we're not Europe.
p.s. In hindsight, Obama is wearing a England Jersey, which is basically camoflauge. Not 100% sure I would have caught it either.
p.p.s. Finally read the story, turns out the guy who made the mistake apparently just searched "Chris Smalling" on google and used the first picture that popped up. If mistakes were this catastrophic every time somebody used google I would have failed out of school in fourth grade, so I really can't hate the guy for trusting a search engine.
