World Cup Wrap Up - June 28

Brazil 1 (3) - 1 (2) Chile
First game of the knockout round! Exciting times ahead, and this game didn't fail to disappoint. Talk of the town before the game were the stunning haircuts on display. Finally, something all sports fans can appreciate at the World Cup! Hair styles!

The Brazilians may not have lit the world up with their soccer playing so far, but I'll be damned if they don't blow the roof off the joint every time they sing their national anthem. David Luiz sings with so much gusto it makes me wonder what kind of mental implosion he's going to have once Brazil loses to Columbia in the next round.

Brazil scored early on, but Chile tied it up in the 32nd minute capitalizing on some horrendous Brazil defending. The Chilean joker was very pleased with these developments. Double bird for the win!

After two 15 minute periods of overtime the game went to penalties. You know the phrase "missed by a hair"? Yeah, apparently this is what that means.

Brazil advances to the quarterfinals! and they'll face off against the winner of...

Colombia 2 - 0 Uruguay

This game was pretty boring except JAMES FUCKING RODRIGUEZ scored another absolute stunner. A contender for goal of the tournament to accompany the one he scored his last time out against Japan.

If theres one thing you take away from this tournament it's that James Rodriguez is the real deal. The star of the tournament so far, and it doesn't look like he's stopping anytime soon. Colombia advances to the next round, cue the Colombian dance celebrations!
