It's honestly pretty astounding that this golden generation for the Ivory Coast resulted in exactly 0 trophies or accomplishments of any significance. They have had genuinely great players for a decade now and they couldn't even scrounge up one measly African Cup of Nations, losing to fucking Zambia in 2012. Ivory Coast can call on the likes of the Toure brothers, Bony, Doumbia, Drogba, Tioté, Gervinho, and several other players paying in Europe's top leagues, and you're telling me they couldn't beat a Zambian team, a team where I can't name one fucking player? Then in 2014 they can't manage to get a fucking TIE against one of the most depressing Greek football teams I've ever seen in my life? It's ridiculous a team this talented accomplished exactly nothing over a 8-10 year period.
Sure, the last two world cups the Ivory Coast were drawn into the group of death, but what's their excuse now in 2014? This was a fucking disaster. Maybe at the end of the day if the players could never win anything under any coach, it wasn't the coaches fault? Maybe the players just never show up on the big stage?
Fuck it, get the coach out of here. At least they'll be able to cherish the intimate memories of his special relationships with his players.
