Luis Suarez bites Chiellini, then Alexi Lalas does what Alexi Lalas does

suarez-bite
suarez-1

Yes Luis Suarez bit someone again and yes it was a big deal, but lets take a moment and realize that the worst part of this entire debacle was Alexi Lalas' righteous indignation at it, imploring the audience watching ESPN to think of Suarez's kids, and wondering how on earth he's gonna be able to explain it to them. First off, Alexi, Suarez is a national fucking hero in Uruguay. You think anybody gave a fuck about his handball at the World Cup in 2010 after it helped put Uruguay through to the semi-finals? Fuck no. His kids probably live like kings because of how big an icon his dad is. They aren't going to get ridiculed, and they won't be embarrassed, so fucking spare me. They'll be erecting statues of him in town centers before vilifying him. Second, how does he explain it? He's a fucking competitor. He's going to do whatever it takes to win. Its a dog eat dog world, especially growing up in fucking Uruguay, so if you can get an advantage and get away with it I say go for it. This event only comes along once every four years, its the biggest international stage he'll ever have, and he's doing everything he can for his teammates and his country to make sure they succeed. He doesn't need professional help Lalas, he's trying to win a fucking game. And let's face it, its fucking Suarez. If he isn't chomping on someones shoulder and leaving hickeys all over the damn place he clearly doesn't care enough about the game.

That being said- does the introduction of video technology complicate this? Absolutely. If he gets banned by FIFA will this be a more ridiculous decision by Suarez? Yes, but seeing as it's FIFA, I can see why he's taking his chances.
